Title: | Provisioning an energy efficient with maximum coverage WSN through biological inspired sensor node placement | Authors: | Abidin, H.Z. Din, N.M. |
Issue Date: | 2015 | Abstract: | Maximum coverage Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) with lower energy consumption may not be achieved without a proper sensor node placement. This paper uses a biologically inspired optimization technique known as Territorial Predator Scent Marking Algorithm (TPSMA) with maximum coverage ratio objective function to arrange the sensor nodes in WSN. The coverage ratio and energy consumption provided by this algorithm is then compared with Genetic Algorithm (GA) based sensor node placement algorithm. Simulation results show that the WSN with TPSMA sensor node placement performed better than the GA with bigger coverage and it is envisaged that the lifetime will be longer. © 2014 IEEE. | URI: | http://dspace.uniten.edu.my/jspui/handle/123456789/7113 |
