Abstract:	The scenario of microelectronic industry in Malaysia was described. The government's policies, infrastructure, government-industry partnership program, as well incentives provided by the government to nourish the industry were also discussed. A special wafer fabrication task force has been formed to ensure the success of this strategic projects. © 2000 IEEE.
