Abstract: Energy management is critical in today’s global environment. The key goals of energy management are to reduce greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions and climate change effect, conserve energy turning into cost savings, use the energy sources efficiently, and lessen the risk of energy scarcity through the evolution of renewable energy. Master of Energy Management (MENM) is one of the courses offered by Universiti Tenaga Nasional, Malaysia, designed to nurture students to appreciate the energy business environment together with the fundamental economic and technological concepts in the energy industries. This compendium represents a compilation of research from the MENM students at UNITEN. The objective of this compendium is to present the recent development of issues, technologies and policies relating to energy management. The issues discussed in this compendium include the policy evolution on prosumers and solar photovoltaic, the role of natural gas for power generation, the integrated solar LED road lighting, market liberalisation of natural gas supply, public awareness of energy conservation, inventory management practices in power plant, the impact of market liberalisation on electricity tariff and cost-effectiveness of plastic to fuel process.
