The Malaysian government has dedicated to the national transformation into a digital economy aligned with the Shared Prosperity Vision 2030. A successful digital transformation programme would improve the transparency, accuracy, and accountability of public services. This book provides a glimpse of the government effort in developing the necessary architecture to support the aspiration of digital transformation of the public sector. Enterprise architecture (EA) represents an enabling tool to realise this aspiration and bring about seamless, connected and better services to the public. EA is seen as a critical instrument for enabling public sector digital technologies to improve the quality of public service delivery along with the concept of e-Government. This book presents an overview of EA implementation issues in the Malaysian public sector and its journey. It is targeted towards public sector employees at the upper and middle management levels to understand EA and its distinction from other information technology systems and the critical success factors for adopting EA in public sector organisations. This book offers an empirical study that developed and validated generic and specific EA adoption models for Federal and State type organisations. Insights from the study led to developing an EA adoption checklist, which could boost the EA adoption rate among public sector organisations in Malaysia.en_US
