A Defected Ground Plane (DGP) technique is implemented in this paper as the bandwidth enhancement method for the UHF antenna. The critical bandwidth limitation for microstrip antenna has been improve using this method by achieving 41% bandwidth covering frequency range 364MHz to 552MHz. The proposed configuration is simulated and analyzed using CST Microwave Studio software. Antenna return loss, radiation pattern and gain are used to analyze the antenna performance using different configuration. Return loss of the antenna is improved by 73% from -15.2dB to -56.2dB by using DGP technique as compared to conventional model. The simulation and measurement result are discussed details in this paper.en_US
